Board cybersecurity-expertise record
Telos Corporation: CEO and a retired Air Force general named with cybersecurity expertise
Telos Corporation's 2026 proxy names Chairman/CEO John B. Wood and retired Maj. Gen. John W. Maluda, a former Air Force CIO, with cybersecurity expertise.
Telos Corporation's proxy statement for its 2026 annual meeting, filed March 27, 2026, names two directors with cybersecurity expertise: Chairman, President and CEO John B. Wood, and retired Air Force Maj. Gen. John W. Maluda.
Of Wood, who has led the company since 1994 and sits on the board since 2000, the filing says he "is considered to have cybersecurity expertise" based on his broad knowledge of the company and its offerings. Telos itself is a cybersecurity and secure-collaboration technology vendor, so the board frames his operating experience at the company as the basis for the designation rather than an outside credential.
Of Maluda, a director since 2009, the filing credits his "cybersecurity expertise as a former CIO" among the reasons he is a valuable board member. He retired from the Air Force in September 2009 after more than 34 years of service, ending as Director of Cyberspace Transformation and Strategy in the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force and Chief Information Officer, where he led communications and information policy for 30,000 personnel; he also served as Vice Commander of the 8th Air Force.
No SEC rule requires naming a director's cybersecurity background this way: a 2022 proposal to add Item 407(j) of Regulation S-K was dropped from the SEC's final 2023 cybersecurity-disclosure rule. Telos's proxy does it anyway, voluntarily. See the board cybersecurity-expertise record for other companies that make the same choice, with no comparison or ranking implied.
