Interim and acting CISO record
GitLab: Robin J. Schulman served as Acting CISO, 2022-2023
GitLab's 2026 proxy states its Chief Legal Officer, Robin J. Schulman, served as Acting Chief Information Security Officer from September 2022 to June 2023.
GitLab's proxy statement for its 2026 annual meeting states that Robin J. Schulman, the company's Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, also served as Acting Chief Information Security Officer for a nine-month stretch.
"Ms. Schulman also served as our Acting Chief Information Security Officer from September 2022 to June 2023," the filing says in her director and officer biography.
The proxy's compensation notes confirm the role carried its own pay: the board's Compensation and Leadership Development Committee approved a $5,000-a-month stipend for her service in the position, on top of her compensation as Chief Legal Officer.
Schulman has served as GitLab's Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary since December 2019 and also oversees global Corporate Affairs; before joining GitLab she held the same Chief Legal Officer title at Couchbase, Inc. The proxy does not name who held the CISO seat immediately before or after her acting stint, or explain why the role needed interim coverage during that window.
