Interim and acting CISO record
Snap: Eric Young named interim CISO as Higgins departs, February 2025
Snap Inc.'s 10-K states SVP of Engineering Eric Young became interim CISO when Jim Higgins announced his departure effective February 21, 2025.
Snap's 10-K, filed four days after its outgoing CISO's departure was set to take effect, names his internal successor on an interim basis.
Jim Higgins announced his intention to depart effective February 21, 2025, and the filing states that, as a result, "Eric Young, our Senior Vice President of Engineering, will act as our interim CISO while we conduct a search for a permanent replacement."
The filing says Young has more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry and has overseen Higgins and Snap's engineering security team since June 2023, giving him direct working knowledge of the function before taking it on. Snap's 10-K does not say whether Young was ultimately appointed to the permanent role or whether a separate successor was later hired.
