United Natural Foods' 10-K ties its interim CISO appointment to a retirement rather than a resignation or an internal transfer.

"In fiscal 2025, following the retirement of our former CISO, we appointed an interim CISO who has over 20 years of experience in information technology and security and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional," the filing states.

The filing says the CISO function, whether filled on an interim or permanent basis, operates under the direction of the company's CIO and carries primary responsibility for developing cybersecurity strategy and governance. UNFI's 10-K does not name either the retired CISO or the interim appointee, or say whether a permanent replacement had been hired by the time of filing.
