Attila Török is the Chief Information Security Officer of GoTo, appointed in July 2023.
Career path
Török's history with GoTo began in 2014, when he joined the company, then known as LogMeIn, as a security engineer.
Over the following years he moved through multiple promotions, helping build the company's security function, before leaving in late 2019 as its director of security assurance.
He then became Head of Security at Zapier, a role he held for about three and a half years.
Török rejoined GoTo as CISO in May 2023, and the company publicly announced his appointment on July 18, 2023, alongside the promotion of Meredith Hawkins to Chief People Officer.
Remit and public statements
In the CISO role, Török is responsible for the security of GoTo's internal systems and products and for safeguarding the company's information assets.
Describing his team's priorities after rejoining the company, Török said, "My team strives to prevent, mitigate risk, and reduce the impact of any potential security threats so that our users can continue to perform their best work simply and securely from anywhere."
He has described his near-term focus as strengthening the human element of GoTo's defenses, pointing to on-demand and live training provided to employees on cybersecurity skills and best practices.
Török took part in the GoTo webinar Winning Cybersecurity Strategies From Real-World Leaders, alongside security leaders from MyFitnessPal and Renaissance Learning.
In that session he described zero trust as a security concept and framework that assumes no implicit trust, even among users, systems, and networks inside the corporate perimeter.
He also addressed how organizations should evaluate artificial intelligence tools, noting that companies must understand what data is fed into an AI model and what data comes out of it in relation to real users, in order to meet security and privacy obligations.
On GoTo's own site, Török is listed as the author of posts published under the company's blog while serving as Chief Information Security Officer.
