David Reber Jr. is the chief security officer of NVIDIA.
Career path
Before joining NVIDIA, Reber served as senior director of cybersecurity for Nutanix and as director of security and solutions for Frame.
He spent more than ten years providing information technology and security leadership to the U.S. government.
As NVIDIA's chief security officer, Reber has represented the company publicly, including as a judge for the 2025 CrowdStrike and AWS Cybersecurity Startup Accelerator, presented in collaboration with the NVIDIA Inception program for startups.
That program, designed to help founders build, launch and scale the next generation of AI and cloud security innovation, drew entrants from the United States, Israel and Europe.
Reber evaluated ten finalists who pitched live at RSA Conference 2025, alongside CrowdStrike founder and CEO George Kurtz and Amazon chief information security officer CJ Moses, before the panel named Terra Security the winner for its innovations in agentic AI-powered, continuous web application penetration testing.
Two runner-ups, Kenzo Security and Rig Security, were also recognized by the judges for their approaches to agentic AI-driven security and identity threat protection.
Terra Security's co-founder and CEO, Shahar Peled, said at the announcement, "We're honored to be named the winner of the CrowdStrike, AWS and NVIDIA Cybersecurity Startup Accelerator," Shahar Peled, Terra Security, businesswire.com.
Public writing on agentic AI security
Reber writes for the NVIDIA Blog on security topics tied to the company's GPU technology, including a piece describing how NVIDIA GPUs underpin computing used across healthcare, finance, scientific research, autonomous systems and AI infrastructure.
On August 5, 2025, he published How Agentic AI Enables the Next Leap in Cybersecurity, which argues that agentic AI is reshaping how organizations approach cybersecurity, introducing new opportunities that require rethinking how AI itself is secured.
NVIDIA later republished that article, noting that unlike standard AI systems, AI agents can take autonomous actions by interacting with tools, environments, other agents and sensitive data, which creates both new defensive opportunities and new categories of risk.
