Compiled 27 September 2026 from public records. Each statement below is drawn from the sources listed at the end.

Gleb Reznik is chief information security officer of American Express. SecurityWeek's industry-moves roundup for the week of March 16, 2026 put him in the seat, noting he had joined the company in August 2024 as SVP, Technology Risk and Information Security.

Career path

Before that promotion, Reznik had already run security for three other financial institutions in sequence. Rochester Institute of Technology's Golisano College, where he sits on the National Council, credits him with the CISO post for Chase, JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s consumer and community banking arm, immediately before Amex.

Earlier, he was CISO at Synchrony, where the college's account says he led the information security program with a focus on protecting key business objectives.

Before Synchrony, he held the CISO role at Capital One for the Shared Technology division, where he is credited with leading the cybersecurity program behind the bank's rapid digital transformation and helping establish its enterprise cloud security program for the migration to the public cloud.

RIT's 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award page, issued while Reznik held the JPMorgan Chase CISO post, records that he graduated from the university in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, concentrating in information security and sociology.

Advisory and board work

Outside his employers, Reznik has served as an advisory board member for the International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals and for the University of Connecticut Technology Park, and the college's page describes him as a thought leader in the venture-capital community who advises entrepreneurs.

What the record does not show

None of the pages fetched for this profile give the exact day American Express named Reznik CISO, only that SecurityWeek's weekly roundup carried the appointment in mid-March 2026. The sources also do not describe the scope of his current Amex mandate beyond the SVP title he held on arrival in 2024, a gap that separates this record from the fuller operational detail available for his earlier bank postings.
