Guy Shamilov

Guy Shamilov is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Forcepoint, appointed in March 2025. He leads the company's global cybersecurity strategy, risk management and compliance initiatives.

Career path

Before joining Forcepoint, Shamilov served as CISO at Varonis, Tata Consultancy Services and Traiana. Across those roles he worked on security innovation and risk management. He has more than 20 years of experience in the field, including a decade in CISO positions. Forcepoint announced his appointment alongside that of Bakshi Kohli as Chief Technology Officer and Head of Global Engineering, and the expansion of Naveen Palavalli's role to Chief Product Officer and Chief Marketing Officer, as part of three leadership appointments tied to the company's AI-driven Data Security Everywhere strategy.

He holds the (ISC)² Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification along with other industry credentials. In 2023 he was named CISO of the Year by the NC Tech Association.

Remit at Forcepoint

At Forcepoint, Shamilov is responsible for fortifying the company's security architecture, protecting sensitive data and strengthening customer trust. His background spans enterprise-wide security programs in Insurance, Financial Services, Homeland Security and IT, with global programs run across the Middle East, Europe and the United States. His areas of focus include securing cloud production environments, guiding enterprises through on-premises to cloud transitions, and aligning security with business objectives through Governance, Risk, and Compliance frameworks. He has also developed strategies intended to protect customer data while supporting business growth and regulatory adherence.

Public commentary

Shamilov took part in a CISO roundtable alongside Marcelo Amaral, CISO of Banco Safra, and Ron Powell, EVP and CISO of Pacific Premier Bank, discussing current security challenges. In that discussion he said that "data is the center" of attacks.
