Noam Vander is the Chief Information Security Officer of Atera. He joined the company as part of a set of executive appointments that also moved two other leaders into C-suite roles. Before Atera, Vander spent more than fifteen years in cybersecurity, having served as CISO at Fiverr.
Career path
As CISO at Fiverr, Vander used Wing Security's platform during the company's ISO 27001 audit, saying it helped with evidence collection around secure employee offboarding, application management and review, and asset management and data sharing. He then moved to Atera as CISO, where he oversees cybersecurity, privacy, and risk management across the company's products and infrastructure. Atera's co-founder and CEO said Vander's expertise helped position the company to keep IT teams and managed service providers secure and compliant with high standards.
Public remarks and talks
In a conversation with CTech, Vander discussed agentic AI security, describing attackers weaponizing autonomous AI agents as a force multiplier against defenses built for human speed. He said, "Attackers' agents don't need change management or a security review, and that asymmetry worries me." Vander told CTech that Atera runs AI agents internally with tiered autonomy, letting them triage alerts, run enrichment, and open tickets without human approval for low-risk, reversible actions, while anything destructive or security-sensitive still requires human sign-off. He added that Atera's own product includes an AI agent that resolves IT tickets end to end, making agentic autonomy part of the company's core business. Atera has also credited Vander with framing the company's ISO/IEC 42001 certification as proof that its AI governance operates within a structured, auditable framework. Vander joined Atera's VP of IT, Gai Hanochi, for a webinar on how AI is reshaping IT and security operations and changing how the two teams work together. He has recommended the podcast CSO Perspectives to other IT leaders, citing its focus on aligning security with enterprise risk management and governance rather than only firewalls and patching.
