He earned a master's degree in computer science and an MBA from California State University, Fresno.
Writing for Dark Reading in Building the Perfect Post-Security Incident Review Playbook, Parekh said post-incident reviews let organizations analyze the effectiveness of existing security measures, identify weaknesses and implement improvements to prevent future breaches.
"By creating a safe environment for open discussion, prioritizing human context alongside technical data, and involving diverse stakeholders, organizations can turn security incidents into accelerators of resilience," Parekh wrote.
His earlier bylined pieces for Dark Reading include How Secure is Secure? Tips For Investing In The Right Strategy and IoT Security Checklist: Get Ahead Of The Curve.
Speaking on the CISO role
In an interview with Help Net Security, Parekh said business leaders often misunderstand cybersecurity as solely a defensive function that can slow innovation. He described his team's approach as replacing manual checkpoints with automated guardrails so that security accelerates rather than blocks business operations. Parekh said his team demonstrates its value by showing how automated security responses have prevented business disruptions while allowing development and operations teams to move faster.
