Ravi Soin is the Chief Information Security Officer of Smartsheet, appointed in September 2025.
Career path
Soin spent nearly a decade at Microsoft, where he worked as group program manager for Bing social initiatives.
He later served for more than fourteen years on the leadership team of healthcare software company Edifecs, holding the title of CIO & CISO.
In September 2025 Soin joined Smartsheet as Chief Information Security Officer, tasked with leading the company's global IT and security strategy.
Remit at Smartsheet
In the role, Soin oversees cybersecurity practices across Smartsheet's operations and products, consults on the company's product roadmap, and guides data privacy initiatives as the company expands its artificial intelligence capabilities.
He is also expected to implement global IT protocols and work closely with product teams to keep Smartsheet's data privacy standards aligned with advancing technology.
Across his career Soin has built and managed SaaS products for public, private and private-equity-backed companies, experience Smartsheet says will support its platform as the company scales.
Chief Technology Officer Cynthia Tee said Soin's leadership would reinforce the company's commitment to security excellence as it expands its AI capabilities.
He is also described as active in the broader CIO and CISO communities, a profile Smartsheet said would help align the company with industry best practices.
"I am incredibly excited to join Smartsheet, a company that clearly understands the foundational importance of security for building a truly enterprise-ready platform," Soin said.
Community recognition and company context
Soin serves on the SeattleCIO advisory board and has been named Seattle CIO of the Year, with additional recognition from CIO100.
Soin's appointment followed a series of other leadership additions at Smartsheet, including the hiring of Stephanie Berner as Chief Customer Officer and the appointment of Eyal Manor as an independent director to the board.
Smartsheet operates an enterprise-grade work management platform used by more than 85 percent of the 2025 Fortune 500 companies, delivering workflow, automation, and collaboration capabilities for organizations worldwide.
The company returned to private ownership in January 2025 through an $8.4 billion deal.
