Before joining Deltek, she served as Vice President and CISO at Quickbase, a software application platform built for dynamic work management.

Deltek, a provider of enterprise software and information solutions for project-based businesses, appointed her Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer to lead its Global Information Security team.

Earlier in her career she founded and led two technology startups.

She has also been a longtime board member and President of ISACA St. Louis, a professional information security organization with more than 700 members.

Remit and public commentary

As Deltek's CISO, Harness leads the company's Global Information Security Team to provide security across the company's software and solutions for customers around the globe.

She has appeared on the Deltek agenda as VP and CISO at SecureWorld St. Louis events in both 2022 and 2023.

Harness has published commentary through Deltek's site, including Entering a New Cybersecurity Era: Insights From Deltek's CISO, in which she shares her views on the evolving challenges of cybersecurity and the use of advancements such as artificial intelligence to stay ahead of threats.

In Your Most Critical Security Control Isn't Technology — It's Culture, she wrote that security failures rarely stem from missing tools, but happen when people, under pressure, make reasonable decisions without recognizing the risks, and that organizations can turn culture into a scalable security control by embedding clear ownership and simple decision checks into everyday work.

Her most recent published piece listed on Deltek's site, Why AI Is Changing Security, Governance, & How Decisions Get Made, explores how artificial intelligence is reshaping security governance and risk management, including cybersecurity threats, compliance, and responsible AI adoption.
