Joseph Adu is the Chief Information Security Officer of CentralReach, appointed in December 2025.
Career path
Adu served as Chief Information Security Officer at PathAI, a Boston-based digital pathology company, where he established and operated an ISO 27001-certified Information Security Management System and helped the company reach FDA and enterprise compliance milestones.
He then became Chief Technology Officer at SpectrumAi, a platform focused on data-driven autism care, where his work supported a secure, scalable SaaS platform and laid groundwork for machine learning tools used in clinical data collection and behavioral health analytics.
When CentralReach acquired SpectrumAi, Adu joined CentralReach as Chief Information Security Officer.
He holds an A.B. in Psychology from Bowdoin College and serves on the college's Board of Trustees.
Across these roles he has spent more than fifteen years leading technology and cybersecurity functions in healthcare, education, and technology companies.
Remit at CentralReach
As CISO, Adu oversees CentralReach's information security and information technology programs, guiding investment decisions, vendor selection, and resource allocation so that security work supports business outcomes.
He works with the company's Legal function to maintain compliance across HIPAA, SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, FERPA, and PCI requirements.
Adu also provides governance for the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning across CentralReach's products and internal analytics, with attention to safety, transparency, and privacy.
He oversees business continuity and disaster recovery planning with defined recovery objectives, and is responsible for ensuring material incidents are communicated to company leadership, customers, and Roper Technologies.
He also works with Customer Success and Sales teams to streamline customer security reviews and to present CentralReach's security program through a self-service trust center.
