Christie Terrill is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Bishop Fox, a role she has held since September 2023.
Career path
Terrill joined Bishop Fox as a consultant and was elevated to Partner, where she pioneered the company's enterprise security consulting practice before moving into the sales organization.
She later led the firm's Delivery Excellence team, working to maximize client value and maintain quality across the company's services, remaining client-facing throughout her tenure, including defining scope of services and delivering security strategy and embedded security program services to clients.
In September 2023, Bishop Fox named Terrill its first CISO, a 14-year veteran of the firm at the time, alongside the appointment of Aaron Symanski as the company's first full-time CTO.
As CISO, Terrill led the team through completion of the ISO/IEC 27001 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2 Security Trust Services Criteria certifications, building on the company's SOC 2 Type 1 certification achieved in February 2023.
Before joining Bishop Fox, Terrill worked in the security consulting practices serving Global 500 clients at Accenture and Ernst & Young.
She reports to Bishop Fox CEO Vinnie Liu.
Remit and public commentary
At Bishop Fox, Terrill leads the company's internal security strategy and program.
She has written the firm's executive briefings on artificial intelligence, including the piece titled A Note on AI from Christie Terrill, CISO, Bishop Fox.
Asked about 2026 cybersecurity priorities, Terrill said, "In 2026, I am most eagerly hoping for an industry-wide maturation in AI governance."
She added that current AI control frameworks and technical monitoring capabilities remain piecemeal and are not widely implemented or deployed, creating friction between vendors, partners, and customers trying to protect their own risk posture.
Terrill is scheduled to speak on The Iron Man Suit of AI + Humans in Offensive Security at the FinCyber Femmes 2026 event on September 15, 2026, alongside speakers from Google/Mandiant and Hack The Box, in a session examining how much of offensive security should be handed to AI.
She is also listed as a speaker for the API Cybersecurity Conference 2026, scheduled for November 10-11, 2026.
