Gary Perkins is the Chief Information Security Officer of CISO Global, appointed in August 2023.
Career path
Before joining CISO Global, Perkins spent a decade as Chief Information Security Officer for the Province of British Columbia, where his work covered protecting the interests of 45,000 government end-users and 5.4 million citizens.
Earlier in his career, Perkins held roles of increasing responsibility at TELUS within the Chief Security Office, including serving as Chief of Staff for that office, and he instructed undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Victoria.

In his current role, Perkins spearheads cybersecurity strategies and risk management initiatives for CISO Global and drives those same initiatives on behalf of the company's clients.

Credentials and industry involvement
Perkins holds a Master of Business Administration in the Management of Technology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, both from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, along with a Diploma in Criminology from Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
He has earned more than twenty cybersecurity and information technology certifications, including Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Information Security Manager and CISSP certification from ISC2.

Perkins participates on multiple industry-related boards and councils, presents regularly on cybersecurity topics, and received the Cybersecurity Community Leadership award from ISACA.
