Before Amazon, Smith served as vice president of security at Salesforce, leading security strategy, risk remediation and security integration across the enterprise.
Earlier still, he held multiple leadership positions inside AWS Security, including as one of the founding members of the Office of the CISO and Security Assurance organizations.
Scope of the new role
Infoblox says Smith will lead its global security strategy, with a focus on cyber resilience, risk management and the secure growth of the business.
On the appointment, Smith said: "I'm excited to join the team and help further strengthen the company's security program while supporting its continued innovation and growth."
Infoblox chief executive Scott Harrell described Smith as a proven security leader with deep experience building and scaling security programs at some of the world's most influential technology companies.
