Jason Scott is the Chief Information Security Officer of Sectigo, appointed in April 2024.

Career path

Before joining Sectigo, Scott held leadership roles in information security at Capgemini and at Chevron.

He also served in the United States military, holding the rank of Colonel.

He served as principal architect for U.S. Army Cyber Command, where he was responsible for integrating global defensive cyber operations to protect critical infrastructure, applications, and defense department networks.

Sectigo's own leadership page describes his final military assignment as Executive Director for a unit responsible for U.S. cyber defense work.

Earlier in his government career he served as an executive director in Washington D.C. and as a cyber director in Atlanta.

Sectigo announced his appointment as CISO on April 9, 2024, describing him as the newest member of its senior executive team.

Remit at Sectigo

As CISO, Scott oversees all aspects of cybersecurity at Sectigo, including data, infrastructure, network, applications, and products.

Sectigo's leadership page notes that he is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).

Sectigo's leadership page describes its executive team, of which Scott is a member, as a group of leaders from companies including HP, IBM, McAfee, Dell, Delinea, Cylance, VeriSign, Symantec, Entrust, and DigiCert, with extensive experience in the PKI industry.

On joining the company, Scott said, "It's exciting to join a company that is expanding into new markets and growing as quickly as Sectigo is."

Sectigo's Chief Product and Engineering Officer, Mark Bilger, said at the time that Scott's success in managing cyber threats for large enterprises and government entities would provide protection for customers and employees as the company worked to help clients adopt quantum-safe technologies.
