He went on to hold technical leadership roles at Salesforce and xMatters before becoming Chief Information Security Officer at MuleSoft, a position he held through MuleSoft's acquisition by Salesforce.com.
In April 2019, Paige was appointed Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at Flexport, the freight-forwarding company, where he was responsible for IT and security and oversaw Flexport's data and privacy standards.
In August 2023, Paige joined Uptycs as Chief Information Security Officer and Vice President of Product Strategy, a dual role combining corporate security leadership with product innovation after he had previously been a three-time Uptycs customer.
He has also served as an investor at Silicon Valley CISO Investments and as a Venture Advisor at YL Ventures.
Paige later became Field CISO at ConductorOne, following his CISO roles at Uptycs, MuleSoft and Flexport.
Public commentary and talks
In a 2023 interview with Help Net Security, Paige described how he balances technical depth with the need to communicate security issues clearly, explaining that his strong technical background helps him translate complex topics into terms that are easier for stakeholders to understand.
He also appeared on Uptycs' Cybersecurity Standup podcast in October 2023, where he described his approach as "helping teams and making everything better, not just trying to be compliant or secure in only the way we read in a book," Kevin Paige, CISO and VP of Product Strategy, Uptycs.
On the same podcast, he said his goal as a security leader was not simply to be compliant but to be secure while still helping teams get their work done rather than preventing them from doing their job.
He also discussed using an artifact repository as an example of a security measure that made engineering builds faster while improving version control and exceeding compliance requirements.
