Career path
Kleinman spent 14 years in senior IT security roles at the Australian Tax Office, including governance and risk, compliance, and the IT Security Advisor position.
He later became Chief Cyber Security Advisor for RSA APJ, working with executives and business stakeholders to position security as a strategic priority.
Kleinman then moved to Palo Alto Networks, where he held the role of Field Chief Technology Officer and Evangelist for Cortex across Asia Pacific and Japan, focusing on government, banking and finance, utilities, and education sectors.
In May 2024, Enablis, an Australian managed security service provider, appointed Kleinman to the newly created CISO position.
Kleinman has spent more than 32 years working across security strategy, risk management, IT strategy, software development, and solution architecture.
He also holds a position as Associate Adjunct Professor at Edith Cowan University and serves as an Advisory Board member for OCSC.
Remit at Enablis
In the CISO role, Kleinman is focused on strengthening Enablis' managed security services and consultancy practice, working with the company's team and clients to provide strategic advice and oversee the development of security frameworks.
He has described cybersecurity and digital risk as regulatory, reputational, financial and equity concerns for organisations, with a process that starts with identifying and quantifying risk before moving into detection, response, compliance and disclosure.
