Rinki Sethi is the Chief Security Officer of Upwind, appointed in June 2025. In the role she leads Upwind's global Information Security and Technology functions and also works across the company's marketing, go-to-market, and customer engagement efforts to drive adoption of runtime security.

Career path

Before joining Upwind, Sethi built and scaled security programs over more than two decades at companies including Twitter, BILL, Rubrik, Walmart, IBM, Palo Alto Networks, and eBay/PayPal. A biography from RSA Conference also lists executive experience at Intuit. She has described having served as both CISO and CIO at publicly traded companies, leading global security teams through high-stakes incidents and building programs from the ground up. She was an early customer of Upwind's platform before joining the company, giving her what the company describes as a dual customer-and-boardroom perspective.

Sethi is also a founding partner at Lockstep Ventures, where she invests in cybersecurity startups. She currently serves on the board of Vaultree, and has previously served on the boards of Women in CyberSecurity, One Prosper, and ForgeRock.

Remit and public voice

At Upwind, Sethi partners with CEO Amiram Shachar on product strategy, go-to-market, and customer advocacy in addition to running the company's InfoSec and technology functions. Discussing her move to the company, she said, "Upwind is the first platform I've seen that flips the model, from reactive noise to real-time decisions."

Outside her executive role, Sethi is a frequent contributor to Fortune, Forbes, and the Wall Street Journal, and she speaks at global conferences.

Education

Sethi holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering from UC Davis and a master's degree in Information Security from Capella University.
