Roger Hale

Roger Hale is the chief information security officer of 1Kosmos, an identity-verification and passwordless-authentication company he joined in June 2026.

Career path

The announcement credits him with more than two decades of executive management experience across global cybersecurity companies.

Before 1Kosmos, Hale was vice president and CISO at Informatica, where he led the company's security transformation as it shifted from enterprise software to cloud-first data management.

He has also held senior security leadership roles at Agora, BigID, and Veritas/Symantec, and served as CISO-in-Residence and venture advisor at YL Ventures.

He is currently a member of the Silicon Valley CISO Investment group, where he invests in and advises early-stage cybersecurity companies on product, security strategy and go-to-market readiness.

The 1Kosmos role

At 1Kosmos, Hale will lead internal security, compliance, customer trust and risk management programs as the company expands its identity platform across enterprises, public-sector agencies and regulated industries.

Hale framed the problem he was hired to address this way: "Identity continues to be one of the critical risks in enterprise security, and is so much bigger than just a login."

1Kosmos chief executive Hemen Vimadalal said Hale understands the identity, security and trust challenges facing large enterprises because he has faced them from the CISO chair, calling his experience with leading cybersecurity vendors a fit for helping the company scale to meet market demand.
