Sherif spent more than two decades at Citigroup, a tenure that included brand-name experience at General Electric and culminated in his role as Global Head of Application Security.

He went on to serve as Chief Information Security Officer at Imperva, where he scaled the security team and led development and deployment of a security architecture spanning SecOps, governance, risk and compliance, risk management, and adversarial simulation.

On October 31, 2022, Absolute Software announced Sherif's appointment as Chief Information Security Officer, a role in which he oversaw global security, including cloud security, threat management, penetration testing, risk and compliance, and security operations, while also leading the company's Customer Zero program.
