Stephen Garcia is the Chief Information Security Officer of BreachRx, appointed in June 2026.
Career path
Before joining BreachRx, Garcia held leadership positions at Western Union, BNP Paribas, Broadridge Financial, Johnson Controls, ConsenSys, FanDuel, and Napster.
BreachRx's leadership page states that across those organizations he worked in financial services, fintech, gaming, and emerging technology, helping companies mature their security posture and navigate milestones that included two public offerings.
His background is described as spanning enterprise security, identity, governance, and the cross-functional realities of managing incidents with legal, regulatory, operational, and reputational consequences.
BreachRx's announcement, quoting co-founder and CEO Andy Lunsford, describes Garcia as bringing operator credibility and a background managing high-stakes, high-pressure security programs, and states that he has previously served as a CISO.
Role at BreachRx
BreachRx frames the appointment as bringing a veteran security leader who will advance platform trust, bring a frontline CISO perspective to product development, and help shape industry understanding of AI-driven threats.
In his current post, Garcia leads BreachRx's internal security program and works on how the platform helps organizations carry out governed, enterprise-wide incident response to accelerating, AI-driven threats.
BreachRx, which describes itself as the leader in cyber incident response management, says it helps organizations operationalize incident response as a governed capability that establishes clear ownership, orchestrates cross-functional workflows, and supports defensible decision-making as incidents escalate.
The company lists Garcia's specialties as incident response, program development, and partnering with organizations at pivotal moments in their security journey.
"I joined BreachRx because I had the same problems other CISOs have, and I could see this platform solving them," Garcia said.
Teaching and credentials
Garcia serves as a teaching assistant for a graduate cybersecurity course at Harvard University.
He holds the CISSP and CISM certifications.
