Jadee Hanson is the Chief Information Security Officer of Vanta, appointed in January 2024. In the role she leads all aspects of security, privacy, and enterprise engineering, overseeing Security, Enterprise Engineering, Privacy and Governance, Risk and Compliance, and reports directly to Vanta's chief executive, Christina Cacioppo.
Career path
Hanson began her career at Deloitte, where she spent nearly five years as a security consultant serving companies in healthcare, technology, manufacturing, energy and retail. She then moved to Target Corporation, where over more than seven years she held senior leadership roles in the security department, including serving as security leader for acquisitions of software development and online retail companies and for the sale of Target Pharmacies to CVS Health. Hanson spent the following seven years at Code42 as both Chief Information Security Officer and Chief Information Officer, leading security and technology strategy and overseeing Application Security, Detection and Response, Security Operations, GRC, and Enterprise Engineering teams. She joined Vanta as CISO in January 2024.
Leading Vanta's security organization
Vanta's Enterprise Engineering, Security, and Privacy group, known internally as ESP, reports to Hanson and spans information technology, security engineering and operations, privacy, and governance, risk and compliance. Describing the team's purpose, Hanson said, "Our team mission at Vanta is to equip Vanta with the technology solutions they need while fostering an environment where decisions are made with security and privacy as guiding principles."
Public appearances and recognition
In November 2025, Hanson joined the mainstage panel From Hype to Trust: Governing AI in the Enterprise at VantaCon, alongside the CISO/CIO of 1Password, the CISO of Sublime Security, and the Deputy CISO of Anthropic. She also appeared among the breakout speakers at the same conference. Earlier in her career, she discussed pentesting and insider threat on a Security Magazine podcast while serving as CISO and CIO of Code42. Hanson was named to Forbes' 2023 CIO Next list and recognized by Security Magazine as one of 2023's Top Cybersecurity Leaders, and she has also been named a Top 25 Women in Cybersecurity by The Software Report and a Top 100 Women in Cybersecurity by Cyber Defense Magazine. She is the founder and chief executive of the nonprofit organization Building Without Borders, which has built houses in the Dominican Republic since 2015.
